Rolling Hills

The Rolling Hills are a long stretching bundle of grassy and tree covered hills. Rabbits can mostly be found on the grassier ones, but prey is plentiful anywhere.

Willowstar arrived in the Rolling Hills after leaving the IvyClan Camp. She automatically tasted the air, then looked behind her and waited for Flashfire to appear.

Flashfire followed steadily, constantly scenting his surroundings and searching for any sign on prey. Suddenly Willowstar's scent was all he could smell. He backed up and realized he'd been so focused on prey that he'd bumped into the leader and got a nose-full of her fur. "Oh, er, sorry. I was, uh, scenting." (XD)

Willowstar looked behind her, feeling Flashfire bump into her. "It's alright." She blinked and looked back to the hills. "That concentration is needed in a good hunter."

(I guess Willow will just, never be shaken by anything XD)

He padded away, scenting the air, a little less embarrassed since Willowstar didn't make it a big deal. "Rabbit" he whispered as he crouched down and slowly moved towards the unsuspecting critter.

Willowstar crouched down and watched Flashfire, not moving a muscle for fear of scaring his prey.

He crept as close as possible, which wasn't that close considering he might of scared it off if he got too close. Just as he kicked off the ground to pounce the rabbit broke into a run. But now Flashfire was running too and was close on the rabbit's tail. He put all of his strength into a leap and lunged at the rabbit. He fell on it, claws outstretched to hold on. He sighed with relief at the luck that he'd caught it, even though he almost missed. He nipped it's neck and looked up to the stars with thanks.

Willowstar lifted her head and padded to Flashfire. "Nice catch. I thought it might get away when it suddenly ran, but you are too sure-footed." She whipped her head around. "I think the commotion may have stirred the prey, I smell rabbit now." She padded off down the hill, and crept through the tall grass as she spotted a white bobbed tail.

He grinned at Willowstar "Actually I did too. Thanks-" "You're right." He sniffed the air, and followed a bit behind, waiting for his leader to make a move.

Willowstar's mind worked fast. The rabbit was downhill, she could risk getting close and charge down the hill if it ran.Lifting her paws and setting them down carefully, she circled around the rabbit at a distance, at an angle so that when it ran, it would start to go uphill, when she would have already picked up speed. She froze, then leaped forward, picking up speed down the hill. The rabbit pushed itself off of the ground and ran in the opposite direction of Willowstar. As it slowed, going uphill, Willowstar pinned it to the ground and killed it with a bite to the neck. She silently thanked StarClan, and picked up the new prey, taking it back to where Flashfire was standing. "We both got very lucky. Maybe next time we should team up and hunt the same rabbit. That way there are no chances it could get away."

"Smart catch" He nodded "Sounds like a good plan" He picked up his rabbit as well.

She nodded to him and put her rabbit down. "Are you ready to return to camp?" She picked up the rabbit again and looked at him, then in the direction of camp.

He nodded "Yesth" he said with a mouthfull. Flashfire padded forward, back towards the camp.

Willowstar nodded and also padded towards the camp, jaws full of rabbit.
