Gray Sand Beach

Whether used for cooling off in the salty sea, fishing, or sunbathing this area provides many uses. Crabs can be caught and dropped from high cliffs to get to the tasty meat inside. Be wary of the tides, swimming too far out can be dangerous.

Blacktooth arrived at the beach, he paused to let the sea breeze ruffle his fur.

Echostar padded onto the soft sand, carrying Foxkit by her scruff. He set the kit down and watched her investigate. "This is her first time out of the camp." A pleased smile spread across his face as he watched her find a small crab which he pawed at and harrassed.

"Is it?" He blinked, looking at Echostar. "If I had known that I may not have been so quick to ask. She looks as if she's enjoying herself though. That poor crab... And her first prey?" He watched Foxkit.

Echostar chuckled "Ha! I guess so. If she manages to annoy it to death." Foxkit seemed to be trying just that as she knocked the crab over every time it got back on its claws.

"I would suggest showing her how we really turn them into prey-food. But it may be too dangerous to show her those cliffs." He sat down, enjoying the sand underneath his claws.

"I agree, those cliffs are definitely too dangerous, but I wouldn't bother with a crab that size anyway, they don't have much meat. Coconut crabs are probably the best kind, in my opinion. They have a mean pinch though." He nodded and snickered as the crab retreated into a hole in the sand. Foxkit watched the hole attentively and soon enough gave up "Mouse-brained crab, wouldn't taste good anyway." she mumbled as she looked for something else to play with. Echostar chuckled as he kept a close eye on her

Blacktooth nodded in agreement. "Crabs aren't my favorite food, but I would say coconut crabs are the best."

Echostar tilted his head as Foxkit came running back with her tail fluffed up "Wh- What's all of that blue stuff! It couldn't be water. There's too much of it?" Foxkit shook her head in disbelief.

Blacktooth laughed. "It is big isn't it? I hadn't thought about this being your first time seeing the ocean!"

Foxkit shivered and yawned as a breeze blew past. She padded over to Echostar and laid down curled up beside him.

Blacktooth blinked once and looked out at the water. He looked back to Echostar and Foxkit. "Should we return to camp?"

Echostar nodded and looked down to Foxkit "Probably. Need to get the crab hunter to her nest." He yawned himself and smiled faintly before picking up his resting daughter by the scruff and standing up.

Blacktooth nodded and started towards camp.
